DEMONSTRATORS
Lee Cheol Ho
Lee Cheol Ho was born in 1962 in South-Korea. At the age of 17 he started studying Bonsai under the late Lee Kang-soo teacher. In 1988 he opened his Bonsai nursery ‘Dong Chen’. He was always very committed in the Korean Bonsai world, where he was the head of the Korea Bonsai Growers Cooperative of the Daejeon branch from 1988 till 2001 and again from 2016 till 2018. Over the years he won several awards like the Daejon Metropolitan City Mayor’s Achievement Award, the Forest Service Commissioner’s Award, the Bonsai Club International Award and in 2023 the Cheong Poong Award. Now he will share his Bonsai knowlegde in Belgium.
Choi Song Ho
Choi Song Ho (born 1972) grew up in South-Korea, with it’s beautiful Bonsai gardens and musea. At the age of 21 he got caught by the Bonsai virus and started to learn more about Bonsai. In 1997 he opened his own Bonsai nursery Song Ho Won. In 2013 Choi Song Ho got the third prize in the Hanbat Bonsai Exhibition and got a certificate of Bonsai artist. The years after that he won several prizes and awards in this important Korean Bonsai Exhibition. In 2017 he gave a demonstration at the ABFF Convention & Exhibition where he won the Kindai Bonsai prize. In 2018 he was part of the masterpiece Selection Committee at Hanbat Bonsai Exhibition. He’s always enthusiastic to spread his Bonsai knowledge.
Yannick Kiggen
Since he was a young boy Yannick Kiggen was passionated by Bonsai. At the age of 12 he started his Bonsai journey by participating in workshops from Takeo Kawabe (JP), Hotsumi Terakawa (JP/NL), Mario Komsta (PL) and others. He took an apprenticeship with Bonsai-master Kunio Kobayashi (JP), and worked at Bonsai Studio Momiji (BE). He joined at several expositions such as the Noelanders Trophy, Ginkgo Awards and the European Bonsai San Show. In 2011 he started his own studio, Yama Bonsai Studio to promote Bonsai and to share his knowlegde and expertise in styling and growing Bonsai. Yannick Kiggen is a wellknown artist who is much asked for demonstrations and lectures both at home and abroad.
Andres Biccoca
Andres Bicocca was raised in Argentina where he had a Bonsai museum and a Bonsaischool where he organised workshops. The school always had a focus on dead wood. At the age of 40 he moved to Spain where he was able to perfect his work on dead wood in order to offer a quality service to the world of European Bonsai. During pandamic he moved tot Portugal where he worked for Kensho Bonsai for 1,5 years. Afterwards he started schools in different European countries such as Belgium, Spain, Germany and Italy where he teaches Bonsai-students about creating dead wood. He’s active as a demonstrator at big Bonsai events across the globe and he’s working on a book distributed by Bonsai Art.
LOCATION
Location
The Trophy 2024 will be held in the Limburghal in Genk where we have the disposal of the complete venue floor. This will cover a 4000M² competition floor and a 4000M² traders and professionals area. Demo’s will be held in the Auditorium and can seat up to 650 guests
Parking
The Limburghal has a free large parking space for about 600 cars.
There are also 2 large public parkings in walking distence of the venue.
- ‘Parking Hooiplaats’ is free (gps ‘Hooiplaats’)
- Parking place at the police court (politierechtbank), 5 € / day, (gps Dieplaan 14)
Be aware: Don’t forget to place your European parkingcard behind your front windscreen if you park in the streets nearby the Limburghal
